Travis Kelce in talks to host 'Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?' reboot for Amazon Prime

Travis Kelce may need to grab “a pencil and a piece of paper” for his next gig.
The NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs is in discussions to host a reboot of the quiz show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” for Amazon Prime Video, a person familiar with the plans but unauthorized to speak publicly confirmed to USA TODAY Tuesday.
In contrast to the original version of the show, which pitted regular folks against a panel of child contestants, the reboot will reportedly feature celebrity guests, according to Variety.
Kelce, already popular as an NFL player, has become a household name since he began dating pop superstar Taylor Swift. He has also done a bit of acting, guest starring in a short-lived 2020 Showtime comedy, "Moonbase 8," featuring Fred Armisen. USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Amazon for comment.
Co-created by British TV producer Mark Burnett ("Survivor"), “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” premiered in February 2007 on Fox and was hosted by comedian-actor Jeff Foxworthy. The show ran for three seasons and returned with a fourth in 2015. It also had a brief run in syndication.
